My family and I have now ended week #2 of home isolation and full time work from home or for my daughter online university courses. I think it is fair to say that we are all already done with this, although we are enjoying the time we have together as a family. That said we continue to preserve for the greater good and to allow us as a community to get through this challenge. First off, let me encourage you to do the same.
Spring in here is the Shenandoah Valley/ Winchester area and it is beautiful, so a couple of suggestions while you are in home isolation…
- Get outside in nature and enjoy the scenery, there are a variety of ‘green spaces’ that are open and you can still maintain your social distancing.
- Exercise outside, the gyms are closed but we can all still get outside and maintain our 6’ spacing and get in a walk or a bike ride.
- Spend time connecting with your family, put down those electronic devices or turn off the TV, and talk or play a board or card game. Make the most of this time.
So what does this have to do with photography???
In my mind, absolutely nothing, but we all need to work together as a community to get through this.
From a photography standpoint, those shoots…family, senior, dance, portrait, etc…that you have put off or cancelled, get them scheduled. Spring shoots are going to be more late Spring Summer, but May and June are still amazing times to get these photos done. Additionally, the studio is always about 72 degrees so it’s available for sessions year round…that is after we get through COVID-19.
I would encourage you to get your photoshoot scheduled so you have something to look forward to and let’s ensure that even in the midst of this that in 2020 we can ‘Capture the Beauty of a Moment’.
